First Issue People Face Is PAN CARD Info Doesn’t Match With CBDT Data Base.
During registration, the common error people face is name mismatch. This happens because we put the name mentioned on PAN card however as per the department the name might be different. To get the name as per income tax records kindly login to https://onlineservices.tin.egov-nsdl.com/etaxnew/tdsnontds.jsp. Click on challan No.280. Fill in the Mandatory fields (Don’t worry, this is just to get the name.No payment of tax is necessary). After entering all fields click on Proceed. On Next Page you will find the name as per Department. Now put the same name on GST Registration page. This will solve the PAN related issue.
OTP not received either on mobile or email.
If this problem occurs, Kindly resend the OTP. If Still unable to get otp, kindly come out of the page and start from the beginning. Fill in the details again and make sure the email id and mobile No. are typed correctly.
Range Code/Commissionerate Code/Division
Look at the rental agreement or sale deed which will be used for address proof. See the area and pin code. It will help you to find the commissioner codes. Only Commissionerate & Division are important fields to fill. Range code tries to search on google.If unable to trace then you fill any range. The accessing officer will rectify it. Principal Place of Business
Please note this is the most important field in GST registration. Most of the applications get rejected due to issues in place of business.If the place of business is rented then kindly upload EB Paid receipt & EB Book copy along with the Rental Agreement.Make sure the landlord name as per EB & Rental agreement are the same. Otherwise, the officer may reject the application.On the other hand, if the place of business is within the owner’s premises then EB Copy Along with sale deed/patta should be uploaded. Make sure the file size is below 1 MB.
Make sure the number given during aadhar application is active as the final authentication OTP will come to the registered number with aadhar. Without aadhar authentication the registration is incomplete. However, if the taxpayer doesn’t have the number then he/she can skip the aadhar authentication process but there may be a physical verification in the absence of aadhar authentication.
DSC(Digital Signature Certificate) Signing issues.
Make sure the latest Emsigner is downloaded from GST portal and installed on your PC & Java has been installed & updated to the latest version. After a successful install, run the designer as administrator. There will be a pop-up display on the screen as Emsigner started successfully. Close that message. Now try to login thru internet explorer and sign in thru DSC. It will work.
